A local Perch shelf or a shared agent dashboard?

Updated · 1 min read

A personal monitor and a shared dashboard may both show agent activity, but they can solve different problems. Start with who needs the information and where the work runs.

Choose Perch for the local attention problem

Perch is useful when you already run agents and need a quiet place to see which session needs you. It has no account or server, and it does not upload your activity.

Its scope is the sessions on your Mac, supported answers you choose and local notes. Your provider subscriptions and their own data handling remain separate.

Evaluate shared workflows on their own terms

If your requirement is a shared queue, remote session access or organization-wide reporting, make that explicit before selecting a tool. Perch does not provide those features.

Other products vary. Check their current documentation for supported providers, where execution happens, what content they retain, how access works and whether a displayed action is actually interactive. No competitor capability or pricing is assumed here.

Monitoring is not orchestration

Even when several states appear together, task boundaries and code integration still need an owner. Perch does not distribute work, prevent edit conflicts or merge the results.
